Why Roots Prep

A place where your work is seen

We're small on purpose. That means less red tape, closer relationships with the families you work with, and a real say in how your classroom or department runs.

A real growth path

Move from Assistant Teacher to Lead Teacher to Program Coordinator as you grow with us.

Paid training & development

Monthly training and support toward CDA or Montessori certification — on the clock, not on your own time.

Fully resourced classrooms

A dedicated resource room and classroom budget — you're never paying out of pocket for materials.

A predictable schedule

Monday–Friday, daytime hours. No nights, no weekends, no surprise schedule changes.

A small, close-knit team

Owned and run by educators, not a corporate office. You'll be known by name, not employee number.

Support beyond the paycheck

An Employee Assistance Program, paid time off, and a child care benefit that grows with your tenure.

What we look for

We're careful about who joins our team — not because of paperwork, but because our families trust us with their children every day.

  • Patient, consistent, and genuinely interested in the age group you'll work with
  • Comfortable communicating directly with parents, children, and teammates
  • Reliable — our families count on seeing the same faces every day
  • Open to feedback, coaching, and ongoing training

Good to Know

  • CPR/First Aid certification is preferred for classroom roles — we'll help you get certified if you're not already
  • A CDA or Montessori credential is preferred for Lead Teacher, not required for Assistant Teacher
  • Classroom-based roles involve lifting and carrying children or materials weighing up to 40 lbs
  • All offers are contingent on cleared DFPS, DPS, and FBI background checks, per Texas childcare licensing requirements
